When you are an independent owner-operator with Secrest Direct, a Landstar Agent, you are in charge. You have the freedom to choose your every move, and we are here to support you. Landstar offers all owner-operators access to the Landstar Load Board to where you can book your own loads and gives you the opportunity to drive solo or with a companion. You also have the freedom to choose which trailer you would like to haul such as flatbed, step deck, van, expedited, and refrigerated.

Landstar Requirements

Before filling out the Landstar application, you must be sure that you fit the requirements below.

• 23 years of age or older
• Have a Class A CDL
• Have Hazmat Endorsement on your CDL
• Have one year of verifiable over the road driving experience
• Verifiable driving history
• No DOT accident within the last 12 months
• No serious violations within the last 36 months. This can include reckless driving or careless endangerment.
• No DUI within the last 6 months
• Have an overall safe driving record
• Each felony and misdemeanor charge will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• No positive drug or alcohol tests
